SBBA Coaches

SBBA coaches represent our organization on and off the court. We believe how we coach matters just as much as what we coach. SBBA Coaches:

  • Create opportunities for every baller to grow.

At  SBBA, our young ballers should feel: known, encouraged, challenged, and supported. SBBA coaches understand that It’s about helping young athletes become better than they were when they walked in.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for coaches who:

  • Know the game: Understand basketball fundamentals and can explain them clearly.

  • Enjoy working with kids: Bring patience, energy, and maturity to every session.

  • Believe in development: Challenge athletes while recognizing that progress looks different for everyone.

  • Communicate positively: Give clear instruction, constructive feedback, and encouragement.

  • Value inclusion: Help athletes of different experience levels, backgrounds, identities, and abilities feel welcome.

  • Are dependable: Arrive prepared, on time, engaged, and ready to contribute.

  • Lead with care: Treat every athlete and family with respect and responsibility.

Bottom line? We are looking for people who love the game and love teaching it to kids

The Opportunity

  • Position: Youth Basketball Coach — Independent Contractor

  • Athletes: Kindergarten–5th Grade

  • Location: Torrance and surrounding South Bay communities

  • Programs: Clinics, camps, workshops, evaluations, and small-group training

  • Schedule: Weekday afternoons/evenings, weekends, and school breaks, depending on program needs

Coaching opportunities may vary based on program needs, experience, availability, and fit.
